Cultura e memória em Taquarana/AL: transformações e resistência das tradições locais

Resumo

RESUMO: A cultura constitui um importante elemento na construção da identidade dos povos, reunindo tradições, saberes e práticas transmitidas entre gerações. No município de Taquarana, em Alagoas, manifestações como o Pastoril, as festividades religiosas e o artesanato tradicional representam parte significativa da memória coletiva, porém vêm sofrendo transformações decorrentes da modernização, do avanço das tecnologias e das mudanças sociais. Nesse contexto, esta pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar as transformações culturais ocorridas no município, buscando compreender os fatores que contribuem para o enfraquecimento das tradições locais e propor estratégias para sua valorização e preservação. Especificamente, pretende identificar as principais manifestações culturais existentes, investigar os fatores sociais, culturais e tecnológicos relacionados às mudanças observadas, analisar a importância da memória cultural para a construção da identidade local e sugerir ações de fortalecimento dessas práticas. A pesquisa possui abordagem qualitativa e está sendo desenvolvida por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, documental e de campo. Como procedimentos metodológicos, serão realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com moradores e representantes culturais, observação participante e registros fotográficos das manifestações culturais presentes na comunidade. Por tratar-se de uma pesquisa em andamento, os resultados ainda são parciais, indicando que algumas tradições permanecem vivas graças ao esforço da comunidade, enquanto outras apresentam redução na participação, especialmente entre os jovens. Espera-se que a pesquisa contribua para ampliar o conhecimento sobre a cultura local, fortalecer a memória coletiva e subsidiar ações educativas e culturais voltadas à preservação das tradições de Taquarana. Além disso, busca-se incentivar o reconhecimento da importância do patrimônio cultural local, contribuindo para o fortalecimento da identidade da população e para futuras pesquisas na área da Educação do Campo.

ABSTRACT: Culture is a key element in shaping the identity of peoples, encompassing traditions, knowledge, and practices passed down through generations. In the municipality of Taquarana, Alagoas, expressions such as Pastoril, religious festivities, and traditional handicrafts represent a significant part of the collective memory; however, they are undergoing transformations driven by modernization, technological advances, and social changes. Against this backdrop, this research aims to analyze the cultural transformations occurring in the municipality, seeking to understand the factors contributing to the erosion of local traditions and to propose strategies for their appreciation and preservation. Specifically, the study intends to identify existing cultural expressions, investigate the social, cultural, and technological factors linked to the observed changes, analyze the importance of cultural memory in shaping local identity, and suggest actions to strengthen these practices. The research employs a qualitative approach and is being conducted through bibliographic, documentary, and fieldwork methods. Methodological procedures include semi-structured interviews with residents and cultural representatives, participant observation, and photographic documentation of the community's cultural expressions. As the research is ongoing, the results are currently preliminary; they indicate that some traditions remain alive thanks to community efforts, while others show declining participation, particularly among the youth. The study is expected to broaden knowledge of local culture, strengthen collective memory, and inform educational and cultural initiatives aimed at preserving Taquarana's traditions. Furthermore, it seeks to foster recognition of the importance of local cultural heritage, thereby strengthening the population's identity and laying the groundwork for future research in the field of Rural Education.
