Educação Profissional e Território: o Curso Técnico de Agropecuária em regime de alternância no Baixo Jequitinhonha

Resumo

RESUMO: Este artigo analisa o Curso Técnico em Agropecuária Integrado ao Ensino Médio em Regime de Alternância, ofertado pelo Instituto Federal do Norte de Minas Gerais – Campus Almenara, no Vale do Jequitinhonha. Inserido numa região marcada por desigualdades sociais e econômicas, onde predomina a agricultura familiar, o estudo se justifica pela relevância do curso, além de ser o pioneiro na instituição em regime de alternância. O objetivo foi de apresentar o curso e a sua importância para a formação profissional no Baixo Jequitinhonha. Foram utilizados autores como Pacheco (2010), Gil (2012), Nascimento e Ferreira Costa (2012), dentre outros. A pesquisa adota abordagem qualitativa, com levantamento bibliográfico e documental, especialmente a análise do Projeto Pedagógico do Curso. Os resultados indicam que o curso foi construído a partir das demandas das comunidades do campo e se organiza pela alternância entre tempo escola e tempo comunidade, favorecendo a articulação entre saberes científicos e populares. Conclui-se que o curso contribui para a permanência dos jovens no campo, o fortalecimento da agricultura familiar e o desenvolvimento regional, reafirmando o papel do IFNMG na promoção da educação pública, além de contribuir para a valorização da memória institucional.

ABSTRACT: This article analyzes the Technical Course in Agriculture and Livestock Integrated with High School Education under a Work-Study Program, offered by the Federal Institute of Northern Minas Gerais – Almenara Campus, in the Jequitinhonha Valley. Set in a region marked by social and economic inequalities, where family farming predominates, the study is justified by the relevance of the course, in addition to being the institution’s first program under the alternating system. The objective was to present the course and its importance for vocational training in the Lower Jequitinhonha region. Authors such as Pacheco (2010), Gil (2012), Nascimento and Ferreira Costa (2012), among others, were consulted. The research adopts a qualitative approach, involving a bibliographic and documentary review, particularly an analysis of the course’s Pedagogical Project. The results indicate that the course was designed based on the demands of rural communities and is organized around alternating periods, fostering the integration of scientific and traditional knowledge. It is concluded that the program contributes to keeping young people in rural areas, strengthening family farming, and promoting regional development, reaffirming the role of IFNMG in promoting public education, as well as contributing to the preservation of institutional memory.
